Due to the rising number of influenza cases in the Texoma area, safety protocols will be in effect until Easter for the general well being of our Parishioners. Liturgical adaptations and restrictions are in place at all three parishes, Christ the King, St Jude Thaddeus, and St Paul, as precautionary steps to prevent the spread of the influenza virus at liturgical services, especially at Mass:
1) There will not be communion of the Precious Blood of Christ. Please know that when you receive the Eucharist under one species, you are receiving the Lord fully, His Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity.
2) No holding of hands during the "Our Father." As a matter of fact, according to the General Instructions of the Roman Missal, the proper gesture for the congregation at this time is to fold your hands in prayerful form. The Priest is the only one who extends His hands to gather and lift up the prayers of the faithful in persona Christi (in the person of Christ).
3) If you are not feeling well, please find an appropriate (reserved) way, such as a simple nod of your head, at the sign of peace. Please refrain from shaking hands.
Thank you for your cooperation. Please be healthy and keep those who are sick and ill in our prayers.
