JOINT PASTORAL COUNCIL/FINANCIAL COUNCIL MEETING May 25, 2017
PRESENT: Fr. Khoi, Bob Brady, Mary Brady, Linda Gibson, Larry McMahill, Dave Poole, Margie Poole, Tom Peoples, Winona Peoples, Richard Pfeffer, Heather Whited, Mike Richter, Elizabeth Casteen, Tammy Gerstner, Kevin Darnell from M&F Litteken.
Fr. Khoi reviewed current finances:
$7,779.81 in General Checking.
$114,258.87 in Savings.
$100,725.91 General Savings.
$13,532.96 Maintenance Savings. Fr. hopes to build this account to $15,000 by the end of this Fiscal Year.
$164,326 in Building Fund.
$112,522 in the account after payment of current expenditures.
The total cost of parish hall project is $343,000.
Kevin Darnell presented material and color choices for the parish hall renovation project. Council members reviewed options and agreed upon the following:
Flooring in the kitchen: Quarry tiles. Grey - 10 votes; brown - 2 votes.
Doors: In-stock option. 7 voted for, 1 voted against.
Cabinets: Zanzibar - 7 votes, English Oak - 2 votes.
VCT Tile: Light color - 7 votes, dark color - 2 votes.
Door jams: Will be painted the same color as the baseboards.
Discussion on new marquee sign
Fr. Khoi presented the costs from Sign-on for different options on a LED marquee sign.
$15,156.00 2x8 monochromatic
$20,822.40 4x8 monochromatic
$23,136.00 2x8 full color
$25,125.12 4x8 full color
Another option discussed was to get a new sign and manual letters, which would run around $1000. We would need to have someone responsible for putting letters on the sign.
Unanimous vote to purchase a new sign and new manual letters.
Fr. Khoi presented bids on sanding and repainting the exterior metal on the parish hall.
M&F Litteken's estimate was about $15,000.
Another bid came in at $8,000.
A third bid came in at $6450. Fr. is very familiar with this person. He worked on the church walls when we had to fix the cracks. The bid includes materials, labor, and Sherwin-Williams Direct-to Metal paint.
The unanimous vote went to bid number three for $6,450.
Mr. Pfeffer asked about landscaping around the hall. With no sprinkler system, someone has to hand water. This was tabled.

The Bishop will be here to dedicate the newly-renovated Parish Hall.
Carmen and Tina will be co-chairs again.
The need for a dedication committee was discussed and agreed it was not needed.
Mass will be at 10:00AM.
Our goal will be a $12,000 net profit.
Parish Pictorial Directory
Linda Gibson agreed to be the liaison for the project.
We will begin after completion of the parish hall.
Continue taking pictures at gatherings for the directory.
Ian Peoples and a group of Jesuits will be coming through on their way to Colorado. They will be here June 14, and will spend the night at the education center. They will need air mattresses and bedding for the night. They will attend Mass the next morning before they head out.
