Christ the King Pastoral Council Meeting – May 2022
CHRIST THE KING CATHOLIC CHURCH
MINUTES OF THE MEETING
We held our 7th Parish Council meeting of Tuesday May 10th, 2022 in the Parish Hall. The meeting was called to order by Sheri Kennedy at 6:30 PM. We were led in prayer by Father Moreno followed by the reading of the minutes by Marlene Jones.
The following items were presented and discussed:
We had a brief discussion on what we read and what we took away from the Forming Intentional Disciples book. We all agreed that more people are leaving the Catholic Faith, not really sure exactly why. Also, the big question is “Do we have a personal relationship with God?”
We also decided the three parishes are going to hire the services of the Catholic Stewardship Consultants to help our Parishes grow financially and thru ministries.
Father was conducting an interview for the Youth Minister position on Wednesday, May 11th. The resume seemed very promising. We will keep our fingers crossed.
It was discussed that we may put together a book that would include plumbers, electricians, yard maintenance, etc., for people in the Parish to have a go to for help in these fields.
Also, maybe holding adult bible study classes while the children are in Sunday school class to get more involvement within our Parish family.
The contract has been signed with James Lane Heating and A/C to replace the units in the church. They are just waiting on parts.
It was voted on to skip the July and August meetings. Our next meeting will be held on June 14th. We are to read Chapters 2 and 3 in our Forming Intentional Disciple’s Book.
A report was given on our Lenten Baby Bottle Project. CTK collected $645.00
Father has a “wicked problem” and asked us all to bring back three options to help solve the problem. (the problem is that Father would like to know, on a more personal basis, each child from each Parish that is registered in Religious Education. At this point it is almost impossible to do with the times of the masses at all three Parishes.
