Christ the King Pastoral Council Meeting – March 2022
CHRIST THE KING CATHOLIC CHURCH
MINUTES OF THE MEETING
We held our 6th Parish Council meeting on Tuesday, March 8th, 2022. The meeting was called to order by Sheri Kennedy at 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall. Father Moreno led us in prayer and the minutes were read by Marlene Jones.
The following items were presented and discussed:
The decision was made to have James Lane Heating and A/C replace the units in the church. Their bid was $5000.00 less than the previous bid from Ellett Heating and A/C.
The latest applicant for the Youth Minister was very impressive but their salary request was in the range of $50,000.00 per year which is more than the Tri-Parish can afford. The quest is still ongoing.
Father Moreno needs to have the budget for 2022 completed by April 1st. Marilyn was going to check with Ernie for his assistance to help Father.
Marilyn gave us a report on the different prices she had acquired for the replacement of the window treatments in the Parish Hall. The cost was a little over the top so it was decided to order online and have the installation done by “highly” qualified people in the parish.
It was decided to put the Lenten Fish Fry on hold till next year when we have more time to plan.
The Parish garage sale is still in the planning stages. It was agreed by all that it would probably take place in September/October. We will definitely need a Chair-Person and Committee for this to be able to happen.
The Baby Bottle Lenten Project was addressed on Sunday, February 27th, and Sheri will send out reminders thru Flock Note.
The Planning Session was discussed. Father gave us an overview of what we would need to address in order to become a Parish of Disciples.
Father is ordering each one of the Parish Council members a book called “Forming Intentional Disciples” to help with our journey.
The meeting was closed with a prayer and adjourned at 7:35 PM
