Catechesis of the Good Shepherd - ages 3 to 6 - Tuesday nights from 6-730pm at St. Jude Thaddeus
YOUTH RELIGIOUS FORMATION (PRE-K TO CONFIRMATION)
St. Jude Thaddeus –
Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 PM in the Education Building.
Christ the King and St. Paul –
Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 PM at Christ the King Parish Hall.
Curriculum and Requirements for Christ the King, St. Jude Thaddeus, and St. Paul:
Pre-K and Kindergarten classes
Use "Who Am I? Image of God- 2nd Edition" by Ignatius Press.
First Grade – Eighth Grade classes
Use "Faith and Life - 3rd Edition" by Ignatius Press.
The Faith and Life series uses both a student and activity book, teacher’s manuals, numerous online resources, scriptural quotations, and correlations with the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Each student will have their own Faith and Life Student Book to use in class. These books are not to be written in or taken home.
Each student will also have an activity book to use and keep.
SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION
All children who are baptized Catholic and are at least seven years old/or second grade are eligible to prepare for First Reconciliation (Confession) in the Fall and Eucharist (Communion) in the Spring.
First Communion is usually on the first Sunday of May for all parishes.
High School/Confirmation Class (9th – 12th)
Students may receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in 10th grade providing they have attended class the previous year.
Students may recieve the Sacrament of Confirmation early, at the discretion of the Pastor, based on the norms of readiness.
UNBAPTIZED youth 7 and over and converts to the faith - (RCIA) - Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Students will follow the regular Religious Formation Class Schedule
Classes will use the Symbolon prrogram on FORMED (or other approved programs at the instructer's perogative)
For those who are ready and freely choose to recieve the Sacraments of Initiation, they will do so at the Eatsr Vigil in the Spring.
UNBAPTIZED - will receive Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
CONVERTS - will make a Profession of Faith and receive Confirmation and Eucharist.
