Maintenance Updates
Bell Tower Repair
Three bids were submitted for the various repairs needed on the bell tower. The first bid was submitted was $5,400, the second was between $3,000 and $4,000, and the third was $3,000. The bid for $3,000 was accepted and the work will begin the week of September 23, 2019. The breakdown of the cost is as follows:
Painting and repairs to the bell tower: $1,500
Painting and repairs to the column: $1,000
Painting of the facia: $500
Asphalt Repair
Two bids were submitted for the repairs needed to the asphalt located in front of the parish hall. The first bid was $7,800 and the second was $6,850. The lower bid was accepted, and the work will begin Wednesday, November 13, 2019. Money raised from the Fall Festival will be used to pay for these repairs. The breakdown in cost is as follows:
Repair of the asphalt in located in the front area of the parish hall, 16’ x 130’ flushing and grading of the asphalt as to push water down to our city’s natural drain: $4,850
Repair of existing cracks and resealing the whole parking lot and driveway: $2,000
Ceiling Fan Installation
Two bids were submitted to install one or two fans in the sanctuary. Cheney Electric’s bid was $1,191.87 to install one fan and $1,479.34 to install two fans. Willen Electric assessed the installation and indicated one fan would be sufficient and they could install the fan at cost which would be less than $1,000. Willen Electric was chosen for the installation.
Fall Festival Updates
Michael Richter provided the following updates:
Keith is working on the large sign up board to place at the back of the church.
Rhineland will provide 300 pounds of sausage for $900 and they will deliver.
Michael brought a sample of the new fall festival t-shirt that is a reddish color (Heather Cardinal).
Linda Gibson gave the reminder that the bread and cornbread need to be baked Friday before the fall festival.
Upcoming Matters
Fall Service Project at Faith Refuge
We will be cooking and serving dinner to the residents at Faith Refuge for our Fall Service Project.
Father Khoi suggested the project take place on Saturday, November 16th and that we gather a list of items they need beforehand. Members agreed to this date.
Linda will call Faith Refuge to confirm the date will work for them and ask them for a list of items needed.
Advent Mission
As a reminder from Father Khoi, the Advent Mission will take place here at our parish on Wednesday, December 11th.
Linda Gibson will contact the Altar Society regarding food.
The Advent Penance Service is set tentatively for Thursday, December 12th.
Questions, Remarks, Suggestions, and Comments
Father Khoi remined members of the Community Thanksgiving Service at the Red River Cowboy Church will take place on Sunday, November 24th at 6p. Father Lim will be filling in that day.
Father Khoi also mentioned the MSU Confirmation Retreat would take place in December.
