Parish Fall Festival Review
Father Khoi asked to discuss the pros, cons, and lessons learned after the fall festival.
Pros –
Better kitchen management staff.
Young families were more involved.
Stuffing mix changed to simplify the process.
Cons –
There was no one to lead the silent auction.
There were other events in the community that took place on the same day as the fall festival.
Too many turkeys left over.
Not enough volunteers. There was no relief for the volunteers at the bake sale table.
The warmer in the kitchen was not working properly.
Lessons Learned –
Provide more detailed instructions for volunteers cooking turkeys.
Begin asking for auction items much earlier, perhaps in August.
Assign themes to auction baskets such as movie night, date night, etc. This will help us be more specific when asking for donations.
Decrease the number of turkeys purchased or decrease the size.
New warmer needed for the kitchen and one that runs on a 110 plug is preferred. Approximate cost: $1,000
Father Khoi discussed the Fall Festival financials
Total Income: $12,288.50
Total Expenses: $3,204.00
Diocesan Tax: $982.94
Total profit: $8,101.56
Parking Lot Project Update
Father Khoi provided the following update:
The current temperature and rain have caused a setback. Work will begin when the weather improves.
Original price quote $6,850
The cost is now $7,850 to make four cuts in various areas of the parking lot to make the surface more even.
A deposit of $2,200 has been paid
The parking lot will be sealed in the spring and the cost will be $2,000.
As a note, the circle drive does not have any asphalt left and the cost to make the necessary repairs there is approximately $13,000. This is a repair to place on the calendar for a later date.
