Christ the King Pastoral Council Meeting – December 2021
CHRIST THE KING CATHOLIC CHURCH
MINUTES OF THE MEETING
We held our third Parish Council meeting on Tuesday, December 14th, 2021, at 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall. The meeting was called to order by Sheri Kennedy. The minutes were read by Marlene Jones.
The following items were discussed:
The Nativity display was a success. There were approximately 180 displays. Saturday was a little slow but Sunday seemed to be a better turnout.
The Fall Festival at the Library went well. CTK was well represented.
We were reminded of the upcoming Parish Mission on Thursday, December 16th. Wendy Collins will be the guest speaker. Father suggested the sound system be set up and working for her.
There was one Youth Minister Applicant. Not a very good fit, so the process continues to find one.
It was suggested that we invest in a CTK Banner to display at our activities. Someone knew of someone to contact. I believe it was Mary Wilson.
Father gave a report on the igivecatholic donations. We also received an Income Statement and the balances on our checking and savings accounts to date.
There was a bid submitted for the replacement of the H/Vac. It was estimated for the church only at $30,000. It was suggested we could draw the funds out of the savings account if need be, then replace the money with our future fund raisers. Something to consider for utility efficiency.
We are still in need of volunteers for ushers, lectures, servers, etc. It was suggested that Father address this from the pulpit after Mass and the volunteer cards be handed out at that time.
Discussed the fund raiser ideas again. Another suggestion was a fish fry during lent. We tabled all these until after the holidays for our January meeting.
